Last week, we brought all our employees from across the country to our headquarters in Little Rock to celebrate our 20th Anniversary. As we have grown over the past few years, we have more remote workers than ever, so it was important to bring everyone in for a few days of team-building, fun, and strategic meetings.
Day One started off at Camp Aldersgate, a local non-profit dedicated to serving individuals with special needs in a camp setting. We participated in a team-building competition led by the counselors at the camp and heard from our friend, Jeff Glasbrenner, a motivational speaker that was the first American amputee to scale Mount Everest, among other great feats.
For dinner, we all piled into Dust Bowl in downtown Little Rock for some food, bowling, and karaoke. There was some friendly competition both in bowling and karaoke! It was a great way to end a fun-filled day!
On Day Two, we met off-site to hear more about the history of Smiley Technologies and where the company is headed. Walter Smiley himself told several great stories about his time founding Systematics, the pioneer of outsourced data processing which eventually became FIS. He also provided pointed advice on how we should view our future. Elizabeth Glasbrenner, our President & CEO, ended with insight into our path forward and encouraged everyone to forge ahead.
That night, to top everything off, we had a nice reception and dinner at the Clinton Presidential Library. We are so thankful to our employees, partners, vendors, and friends for the past 20 years. We can’t wait to see what the next 20 years will look like!
